Peter Bunyan

Peter Bunyan

Peter trained as a teacher in Exeter. He also studied at London University and gained a Masters degree with the Open University. He worked for 37 years as a teacher in Essex secondary schools, the last twenty in charge of an English department.

Retirement has meant he can concentrate on his family and develop his own life long enthusiasm for poetry and literature in general and that of the First World War in particular.

His interest in the Great War began when he was a sixth former himself and he now looks forward to helping more young people not only to become aware of the almost unbelievable cost in human life, but also to appreciate the impact that the writers of the period had on English letters for the rest of the 20th century.
