We are really pleased to launch a brand new 3-day, fully-guided tour designed specifically to support Pearson Edexcel's GCSE Period Study 'Superpower relations and the Cold War, 1941–91' - and what's more we are delighted to announce that Pearson Edexcel has endorsed the itinerary as a means to enhance the teaching and learning process.

We start our tour by looking at the final days of the Nazi regime and the end of WW2, with a guided walk around central Berlin and a visit to the German-Russian Museum in Berlin-Karlshorst, where on May 8, 1945, the German High Command signed the act of unconditional surrender. Then, with a tour of the Cecilienhof Palace, site of the Potsdam Conference, and a visit to the Allied Museum on Clayallee in the former American sector of Berlin, your students will have the chance to look at many of the themes covered in key topic 1 - The origins of the Cold War 1941-1958.

The former “House of Ministries” of the GDR, a guided tour of the Stasi Prison in Hohenschoenhausen and the Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Strasse provide ideal backdrops to look at subjects such as the early Cold War crises, the influx of refugees into West Berlin and the impact of the construction of the Wall on US-Soviet relations before the tour culminates at Checkpoint Charlie where, with your Anglia guide, students will consider those factors which led to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War (key topic 3).

Plan and book with confidence - We promise to be flexible and that your money will be safe in these uncertain times. Click here to read our full policy.
