The Front Line is much closer than you think

This immersive, hands-on experience will help your students develop a far deeper understanding of the events, experience and legacy of the First World War. What's more, for those schools teaching courses on treatment and care of the wounded on the British Sector of the Western Front 1914-1918, it will provide an unrivalled opportunity to explore the various stages of the Chain of Evacuation without having to take them abroad!

This unique programme, delivered in conjunction with our friends at the WorkSecure Group, includes:

  • A chance to meet the Recruiting Sergeant and see him in action as he tries to persuade your ‘men’ to sign-up for the British Expeditionary Force.
  • An opportunity for some square bashing and a lesson from the Drill Sergeant on how to handle those weapons available to the Tommies of the British Army.
  • A recreated First World War Advanced Dressing Station where you will have a chance to meet, and ask questions of, the Medical Officer. He can talk to you about battlefield wounds, injuries and illnesses were treated and cover the new techniques and technologies introduced during the war.
  • A recreation of a military cemetery, complete with replica grave markers, where you may meet the Padre, who can talk to you about their role in the Chain of Evacuation, how the Fallen are buried and the role of the War Graves Commission.
